Pakistan: US behind Suicide Bombings, Kashmir Singh & Cartoons

Pakistan: US behind Suicide Bombings, Kashmir Singh & Cartoons

If anyone is looking for a crash course on politics of Pakistan and how the State function then look no further just look at last week events.

It is widely believed in Pakistan that United States is behind much of upheaval in the country e.g. kidnapping of Pakistani citizens, interference in the politics of Pakistan, influence over puppet Musharraf, influence over the military, illegal military operations on Pakistani territory since 2003 etc but nobody ever thought that government will ever accept openly any of the above universal truths.

However last week Interior Minister Hamid Nawaz confirmed widely held view amongst Pakistanis that United States is behind terrorism in recent months in Pakistan. In his interview with an Arab television channel, Hamid Nawaz said that the United States, India and Afghanistan were involved in creating lawlessness in Pakistan and that it was believed that US and Afghanistan were backing militant outfits involved in terrorism in Pakistan.

United States propaganda machinery was quick to put things straight when American Embassy in Islamabad, in a statement, said the US Ambassador NW Patterson talked to the Minister of Interior Hamid Nawaz on telephone to communicate concern over his statement. Since then the interior minister could not be 'reached' for comments.

However, those who are familiar with the politics of Pakistan above statement from the Interior Minister come with no surprise. United States like Britain, applies deadly divide and rule policy, US application of this policy can easily be seen in Iraq when Shias and Sunnis were put against each other to consolidate the occupation. Similarly US, since the occupation of Afghanistan working hard to make the resistance to the occupation in Afghanistan, Pakistan's problem.

Last week we saw many protest around the Muslim world and in Pakistan regarding the reprinting of cartoons by the Danish Newspaper insulting Prophet of Islam, Mohammad (PBUH) and the upcoming video by Geert Wilder in which he compare Quran with Mein Kempf of Hitler and insults Prophet of Islam and Sharia. While anger of Muslims is clear, no head of major political parties or Pakistani senior officials condemned Denmark. Surely the correct response, if the Pakistani government hold the honour of Prophet (PBUH) high is to expel Danish ambassador from the country and sever all ties.

Last week we saw Musharraf pardoning India spy Kashmir Singh who has been sentenced to death. One wonders was the crime of the innocent children of Lal Masjid so horrible that he could not rest until he had burnt them alive? One should ask Minster of Human Rights, Ansar Barni, if a convicted Indian spy is so deserving of human rights, why is it that he could not liberate a single missing person amongst the hundreds of Muslims languishing in the torture cells of Musharraf and US?

And lastly we also saw under the guise of National Reconciliation Order, crimes of national thieves washed away. The state of rule of law in Pakistan is such that rich and powerful gets away while poor and weak perish in the jails of Pakistan. These people are now heading to parliament to make a government of 'consensuses'.

Just by looking at last week one can sum up whole of Pakistan politics. It is a country devoid of sovereignty as shown by US interferences, CIA bases, FBI offices and leaders like Musharraf subservience to Washington. It is a country where the population hold Islam very dear contrary to what the leadership hold i.e. fear and obsequiousness. It is a country where there is one rule for the rich and powerful and one for the weak and poor. It is a country that is yearning to be liberated through Khilafah from the occupation by its western feudalistic elite who are holding the whole country ransom.
